At Watendlath Guest House our aim is to provide comfortable bed and breakfast in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We will always endeavour to do our best to cater for the needs of all guests.
Watendlath Guest House is a three storey Victorian town house which has been tastefully modernised with the aim of making your stay a home from home experience.
Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the house (please ask for the code).
Keswick’s main bus terminal is approx 15 minutes away mostly level walking. Guests travelling by bus from either Penrith or Windermere can get off the bus at Victoria Street which is approx 5 minutes walk away.

There are no parking restrictions or charges in Acorn Street or the surrounding streets, it is just a case of finding a space. Please note that during busy periods it may not be possible to park immediately outside the property.
Keswick town centre is approximately a five minute walk. Mostly level but with a slight gradient at one end of Acorn Street.
Our front door is on to Acorn Street. One step of approx 6cm (2 ⅜ inch) from the pavement to another of 13.3cm (5 ¼ inch) to the front porch. The front door is usually open with a door bell and the porch door locked. The front door is approx 98cm in width.
Our hallway leads to the main stairway. The dining room is to the right as you enter. We do not have a guest lounge.
Breakfast is served in the dining room with each room seated at individual tables. Please sit at the table with the number on that corresponds with your room number.
We try to cater for all tastes, please help yourself to items from the breakfast buffet, a full English breakfast is served along with a choice of tea/coffee, toast with jam and homemade marmalade.
We have four guest rooms in total. Two on the first floor and two on the second floor. All rooms have central heating, radiators with temperature control. Each room is equipped with wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table with lights, two chairs, a TV with DVD, hairdryer and en suite shower and toilet. A complimentary hospitality tray with tea, coffee, and hot chocolate and there is a small chiller for drinks and larger items may be stored in the guest house main fridge. Complimentary toiletries are provided. Towels are provided and changed as necessary. All double beds are standard 4ft 6ins and single beds are standard 3ft. For extra comfort all double beds have king size duvets and single beds have double duvets.
Each stair is 17cm (6 ¾ inch) overall width 75cm (29 ½ inches) with a hand rail to the right hand side. There are eight stairs to a small landing then a further eight to access rooms one and two. Two stairs from the small landing access a toilet for guests use, the bathroom is private.
A double room located on the first floor at the back of the house with views towards Latrigg and Skiddaw.
Large en suite family room with a double bed, two single beds, and extra space for a cot. Located on the first floor at the front of the house over looking the street. This room can accommodate a family or three friends requiring separate beds.
There are eight stairs to a small landing then a further eight to access rooms four and five.
Flexible en suite room with kingsize double or twin beds. Located on the second floor
at the back of the house with views to Skiddaw and Latrigg. A small flight of four stairs with a hand rail on the left hand side leads to the en suite which as a part sloping ceiling and a Velux roof window.
En suite room with double bed. Located on the second floor on the front of the house overlooking the street with views to Walla Crag.
We do not have our own but can advise on facilities nearby. We will do our best to dry any wet walking clothes and boots you may have during your stay.
We have a travel cot and high chair for the use of guests.
We operate a no smoking policy throughout all parts of the house. If it is discovered either during your stay or upon check-out that a guest has smoked a charge of £100 will be made to the guest to cover cleansing and laundry costs.
If you need any flasks or drinks bottles filled please bring them when you come down for breakfast.
There is no charge for flasks and we do have flasks you can borrow during your stay. We do not provide packed lunches as there is large variety of shops in Keswick that make sandwiches to your choice of filling.
A fire alarm is fitted with call points, smoke and heat detectors. A bell will sound if evacuation is needed.
We have off road parking for motorcycles and secure garage storage for cycles.
This is our home so we are usually available should you require anything.
