At Watendlath our aim is to provide comfortable bed and breakfast in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We will always endeavor to do our best to cater for the needs of all guests.
Watendlath is a three storey Victorian town house which has been tastefully modernized
Wi fi is free and available throughout the house( please ask for the code ).
main bus terminal is approx 15minutes mostly level walking. Guests travelling
A taxi service is available from the bus terminus
Penrith is the nearest rail station which is about 17 miles away

Arrival and Car Parking
It would be appreciated if guests would contact us to advise on the anticipated time of arrival
There are no parking restrictions or charges in Acorn Street or the surrounding streets, it is just a case
Keswick town centre is approximately a five minute walk. Mostly level but with a slight gradient at one end of Acorn Street.
Main Entrance & Reception
Our front door is on to Acorn Street
One step of approx 0.060mm ( 2 3/8 inch )from the pavement to another of 0.130mm ( 5 ¼ inch) to the front porch
The front door is usually open with a door bell and the porch door locked.
The front door is approx 980 mm in width
Our hallway leads to the main stairway. The dining room is to the right as you enter.
Breakfast is served in the dining room with each room seated at individual tables. Please sit at the table with the number on that corresponds with your room number.
We try to cater for all tastes, please help yourself to items from the breakfast buffet, a full English breakfast is served along with a choice of tea/coffee, toast with jam and homemade marmalade.
We do not have a guest lounge
We have four bedrooms in total, two on the first floor and two on the second floor. All rooms have central heating, radiators with temperature control. Each room is equipped with wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table with lights, two chairs a T.V.with DVD, hairdryer and en suite shower and toilet. Complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate and toiletries are provided also a small chiller for drinks etc. Towels are provided and changed as necessary. All double beds are standard 4ft 6ins and single beds are standard 3ft. For extra comfort all double beds have king size duvets and single beds have double duvets.
First Floor Bedrooms
Each stair is 0.170mm ( 6 ¾ inch) overall width 0.750mm (29 ½ inch) with a hand rail to the right hand side
There are eight stairs to a small landing then a further eight to access rooms one and two
Two stairs from the small landing access a toilet for guests use, the bathroom is private
First floor on the back of the house with views towards Latrigg and Skiddaw.
One double bed.
First floor on the front over looking the street.
Large family room. One double and one single bed with extra space for a cot, through an arch to a further single bed and en suite. This room can accommodate a family or three friends requiring separate beds.
Second Floor Bedrooms
There are eight stairs to a small landing then a further eight to access rooms four and five.
At the back of the house with views towards Skiddaw and Latrigg.
Flexible room either king size double or 2 single beds.
A small flight of four stairs with a hand rail on the left hand side leads to the en suite which as a part sloping ceiling and a velux roof window.
On the front of the house overlooking the street with views towards Walla Crag One double bed
We do not have our own but can advise on facilities nearby. We will do our best to dry any wet walking
We have a travel cot and high chair for the use of guests.
If you need any flasks or drinks bottles filled please bring them when you come down for breakfast.
We operate a no smoking policy throughout all parts of the house. If it is discovered either during your stay or upon check-out that a guest has smoked a charge of £100.00 will be made to the guest to cover cleansing and laundry costs.
A fire alarm is fitted with call points, smoke and heat detectors. A bell will sound if evacuation is needed.
Although there is a small chiller in each room larger items may be stored in our main fridge.
We have off road parking for motorcycles and secure garage storage for cycles.
This is our home so we are usually available should you require anything.
